Take steps to protect Tamil culture: BJP

Puducherry, Dec 17 (UNI) The BJP Puducherry unit today urged the administration to take steps to protect Tamil culture from the invading western culture.

In a statement here, BJP State President M Visweswaran alleged that the kind of culture promoted by youth, visiting the state during the weekend was affecting the Tamil culture here.

Instead of encouraging tourism, which was spoiling the Tamil culture, the government should bring in major industries to generate employment to locals, he said.

He urged the government to set up more industrial units here.
