Revolutionary Lahiri remembered on his 'Balidan Divas'

Gonda, Dec 17 (UNI) Revolutionary Rajendra Nath Lahiri was today remembered on his 'Balidan Divas' at the district jail here.

The leader was paid obeisance and his statue was garlanded in the jail on the occasion.

Several politicians, social workers, veteran leaders, administrative officials and locals participated in the programme and threw light on his life and achievements.

On August 9, 1925, Lahiri along with 22 other revolutionaries had stopped the mail train near Kakori and looted the British government's treasure.

On December 17, 1927, he was hanged to death in the district jail here.
