One killed, two house boats, 15 other structures gutted in Kashmir

Srinagar, Dec 17 (UNI) A teenager was burnt alive and 17 house boats and other structures were gutted in the Kashmir valley overnight, official sources said today.

Bilal Ahmad (17) received burn injuries when fire broke out in the house of Mohammad Shafi Rather at Veer Saran, Pahalgam, in south Kashmir district of Anantnag last night.

He died before he could be shifted to hospital.

They said panic gripped in famed Dal Lake when fire broke out in a house boat near Nehru Park. Flames engulfed another house boat and a tin shed. The cause of the fire was not immediately known, they said adding no loss of life or injury was reported in the incident.

They said thirteen houses and other structures were gutted in three different fire incidents at Rainawari and Pulwama.
