Modi seeks co-operation from Bnaks for development of Bihar

Patna, Dec 17(UNI)-Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Sushil Kumar Modi today called upon the bankers to co-operate for rapid development of the state.

Addressing the meeting of bankers of Tirhut division at Muzaffarpur, Mr Modi asked them to achieve the target of distributing the credit to the tune of Rs 1893 crores during the current finacial year.

''Every branch of the bank should ensure cent percent distribution of Kisan Cards in its seven surrounding villages'', he said adding zero deposit account for one member of each family of Sitamarhi and Sheohar districts of the Tirhut division should be opened.

Mr Modi warned that state government would withdraw all its deposits from the bank which would fail to finance 25 percent of the government sponsored welfare and development schemes.

He called upon the bankers to increase credit-deposit ratio to forty percents in all districts.The performance of the banks in improving the credit-deposit ratio would be reviewed on monthly basis and action would be taken against the erring banks, he added.
