Mechanised boat capsize, 4 fishermen escape

Puducherry, Dec 17 (UNI) Four fishermen of Pannithittu, near here had a miraculous escape when their mechanised boat capzised in the estuary at Thengaithittu today.

According to police, Harikrishnan (51), Suresh(30), Manickavel(38) and Murugan ventured into the sea. When their boat reached the sea mouth, it ran into sand and capsized.

Fishermen in other boats, following them, rescued them and towed the boat to the fishing harbour.

Manickavel, who sustained injuries was admitted to the government general hospital here.
