Karunanidhi to leave for Delhi tomorrow

Chennai, Dec 17 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi will leave for New Delhi tomorrow on a four-day visit to attend the National Development Council (NDC) meeting.

During his visit, Mr Karunanidhi would also attend the conference of Chief Ministers, convened by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Rising incidents of Naxal violence and terror attacks of various militant organisations would be the main focus of the Decemebr 20 Prime Minister's meeting with Chief Ministers.

Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil, heads of paramilitary forces and other security agencies would also attend the meeting to take stock of the country's internal security scenario.

The Chief Minister was also likely to call on AICC President Sonia Gandhi.

Mr Karunanidhi would leave by the Jet Airways flight at 1340 hrs.

He is likely to return on the afternoon of December 21.
