Bharat Nirman campaign kicks off from Bhagat Singh's native village

Khatkar Kalan, (Nawashahr) Dec 17 (UNI) The 6th Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign, to acqaint the masses regarding various schemes for the development and welfare of the people, was today launched from the native village of Shaheed Bhagat Singh.

The five-day awareness campaign, which is being organised by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), was inaugurated by Deputy Commisioner Gurpal Singh Bhatti.

Appreiciating the efforts of the PIB in order to take the policies and programmes of the Central government to the masses particularly the rural people, Mr Bhatti said that the programme would not only help people to get first-hand knowledge of the flagship programmes of the Government like National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, National Rural Health Mission, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Mid-Day Meal and many other schemes but would also improve their standard of living, while taking advantage from these schemes.

He said that the Prime Minister's New 15 Point Programme for the Welfare of Minority Community and Women Empowerment are the unique programmes of the Union government and appealed to the people to come and participate in the campaign for the maximum benefit.
