Admapur in Punjab shivers at 0.6 degree celsius

Jalandhar, Dec 17 (UNI) As night temperature dipped at most of the places in Punjab, Adampur airbase near Jalandhar turned out to be the coldest place in North West region, recording 0.6 degree celsius.

According to a Defence spokesman, the minimum temperature recorded at Adampur was 3.2 degrees below normal.

The holy city of Amritsar was cold at 1.6 degrees, while minimum temperature recorded at Pathankot was 4.4 degrees and 5.4 degrees celsius at Bathinda.

In the Union Territory of Chandigarh, the minimum temperature hovered at around 6.6 degrees, while Ambala in Haryana recorded the minimum temperature at 4.2 degrees.

In the state of Jammu and Kashmir, the minimum temperature in Srinagar and Leh plummeted to minus 7.2 degrees and minus 16.8 degrees celsius respectively while at Jammu, it was 7.2 degrees and at Udhampur it was low at 1.6 degrees celsius.

For the next 24 hours, the Weather Office has predicted clear weather with sunshine in the day and fog in the morning and haze in the evening.
