Youths undertake environment cleanliness campaign

Thane, Dec 16 (UNI) Around 250 youths voluntarily took upon themselves the arduous task of cleaning up ''Chaityabhoomi'' on December 6 and 7 after lakhs of people congregated there to pay homage to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.

The youth cleared the waste left behind in a bid to promote environmental cleanliness.

The environmental cleanliness campaign was initiated by Omni Development Relief Fund (ODRF), a USA-based voluntary organization, in association with the Pragatic Vidhyarthi Sangh, Municipal Corporation and community groups.

Mr Dinesh Dalvi, treasurer of ODRF, had come all the way from US to India for this cause, an ODRF spokesman said.
