Tribal Committee calls for bandh on Dec 22
Mysore, Dec 16 (UNI) The Tribal Rights Protection Committee will observe a bandh at Nagarahole National Park area on December 22, demanding the government to implement the Tribal Rights Protection Act.
Committee Convenor P K Ramu told newspersons here today that the forest department had prevented the tribals from entering the forest to collect natural products like honey, medicinal herbs and fruits.
To protest against this, the tribals, besides observing a bandh at the national park area, would forcefully enter the forest from December 18 to 22, he said.
He added the Committee would organise 'Bangalore and Delhi Chalo programme', if the government failed to implement the Act.
