Jalandhar, Dec 16 (UNI) The night temperatures dipped at most places in Punjab today, turning Adampur airbase near Jalandhar, as the coldest place in the state, despite clear sky and bright sun.
According to a Defence spokesman, the minimum temperature at Adampur fell to 1.4 degrees celsius.
Amritsar recorded the minimum at 1.8 degrees, while Halwara airbase, near Ludhiana, was cold at 3.2 degrees. The minimum temperature remained the same at 5.4 degrees in both the towns of Pathankot and Bathinda.
In the Union Territory of Chandigarh, the minimum temperature hovered at about 4.4 degrees, while Ambala in Haryana recorded the minimum temperature at 3 degrees. The minimum temperature recorded at Jammu and Srinagar was 5.6 and 5.4 degrees respectively.
The Weather Office has predicted clear weather with sunshine in the day and fog in the morning and haze in the evening for the next 24 hours.
