Rajasthan minister sends resignation to Vasundhra

Jaipur, Dec 16 (UNI) Rajasthan Food and Supplies Minister Kirori Lal Meena sent his resignation letter to Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje and BJP state president Mahesh Sharma to pile pressure on the state government against the Chopra Committee report likely to be released tomorrow.

The three-member Chopra Committee had been constituted by the state government to examine the Gujjar community's demand of ST status.

Sources said the minister's wife carried the copies of his resignation letters in sealed envelopes to the Chief Minister Office and the state party headquarters.

Dr Meena was not available for comment.

The Meena community has been up in arms against any proposal relating to granting of SC status to the Gujjar community.
