Kidwai asks journalists to help in progress of nation

Chandigarh, Dec 16 (UNI) The Haryana Governor A R Kidwai today exhorted the journalists to properly utilise their capability and contribute their mite to usher a new era of prosperity in the country.

Dr Kidwai was addressing the media persons at the annual function organised by 'Haryana Patarkar Kalyan Manch' at Senate Hall of Kurukshetra University.

The Governor said that country had made rapid progress in the age of globalisation and hence the responsibility of the media persons had also increased substantially.

While referring to journalists as the fourth pillar of democracy, the Governor said that the journalists could work as a bridge between the Government and the people.

He said that Haryana Government had given a number of facilities to the journalists and assured that Government would remain committed for their welfare in future also.
