J-K govt to come up with a strategy to tackle unemployment

Jammu, Dec 16 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government will soon come up with a strategy to address the issues of growing unemployment in the militancy-infested state, Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad said.

Discussing a framework of employment policy at a high level meeting with the Ministers and senior bureaucrats last evening, Mr Azad said a cabinet sub-committee constituted for the purpose would further study the proposals and come up with short, medium and long term strategy to address the issues of growing unemployment.

Economic Advisor to the state Government, Dr Haseeb Drabu and Financial Commissioner Planning and Development, S S Kapoor also presented a comprehensive proposal on the issue.

In August this year, the government had constituted a Cabinet Sub-committee under the chairmanship of Minister for Health and Medical Education Mangat Ram Sharma to look into the issues of unemployment.
