IT-enabled training for teachers begins

Kochi, Dec 16 (UNI) Atomic Energy Education Society (AEES) Chairman C V Anandabose today said the quality of education could be improved with capacity-building programmes for teachers through IT-enabled training.

Speaking after inaugurating a training programme for the first batch, Mr Bose said it was aimed at developing competency skills of teachers in information and communication technology applications to be used in day-to-day classroom situations,a press release here said quoting him.

The programme had been jointly organised by the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and AEES.

Latest technology tools like power point animation, scanning material for conversion into texts, videography, handling LCD, pen drive and arranging EDUSAT sessions would form part of the programme.

The first batch comprises teachers selected from AEES Schools located in Hyderabad, Kodambakam, Kalpakkam and Mysor.
