Godhra: Candidate roughed up, voter turnout 45 per cent
Godhra, Dec 16 (UNI) Barring an instance of a minor skirmish in which a BJP candidate was roughed up, polling passed off peacefully in Godhra, the epicentre of the 2002 communal violence.
Mr Prabhatsinh Chauhan was doing rounds of the polling booths in his Godhra constituency when some people started berating him. This led to heated arguments and one of them tore Mr Chauhan's shirt.
In another incident, the police had to remove mediapersons and five OB vans of TV channels from a polling booth in a school compound, categorised as sensitive. This was done after voters complained of inconvenience.
