Four women arrested for possessing ammunition

Kohima, Dec 16: Kohima police arrested four women and seized 1,773 rounds of live ammunition from their possession at Khuzama police check gate in seperate incidents.

A release issued here today by the Kohima Superintendent of Police stated that security personnel arrested two women on December 14 and seized 1,673 rounds of live cartridges for AK-47 rifles from a Dimapur-bound taxi, which was coming from Manipur.

In a seperate incident on the same day, police arrested two other women and seized 100 rounds of live cartridges for .303 rifles at the Khuzama check gate.

All the four women were from Chandel district of Manipur, police said.

Cases had been registered against the women and investigation was on, police added.
