Eighteen injured as train rams into tempo

Ludhiana, Dec 16 (UNI) Eighteen persons were injured, four of them seriously when a passenger train rammed into their tempo-traveler at a unmanned level crossing near Jagraon in the district this evening.

According to police sources the accident happend when the overloaded tempo-traveler was crossing the railway track. The train coming from Ludhiana and going towards Ferozepur hit the tempo-traveler.

The injured were admitted to the Jagraon Civil Hospital, from where four of the seriously wounded were rushed to the CMC hospital here.

The accident occured on the same Ludhiana-Ferozepur section on which a similar accident took place on last Friday when a passenger train hit a mini bus in Moga district resulting in the death of 16 persons.
