Brown sugar worth Rs 1.5 cr seized, one held

Lucknow, Dec 16 (UNI) Police today arrested one member of a syndicate, involved in the smuggling of psychotropic substances and seized 1.5 kg brown sugar, estimated at Rs 1.5 cr in the international market, from Vikas Nagar area here.

Akeel of Jaitpur area in Barabanki was nabbed with the brown sugar when he reached here, police said.

The arrested has been sent to jail.
