Advani promises clean state government
Dharamshala, Dec 16 (UNI) Former deputy prime minister L K Advani today promised a clean and transparent state government by the BJP if it was voted to power in Himachal Pradesh assembly elections.
Addressing a public meeting at Baijnath Assembly constituency in Kangra district, he promised to provide a clean and a transparent state government that would wipe off the scourge of corruption from public life.
Mr Advani, who was accompanied by former union minister Shanta Kumar, said the BJP Government would also take all necessary steps to rein in the prices of essential commodities, besides solving the problem of unemployment, which had reached alarming proportions during the present Congress Government.
Mr Kumar would get his due in the government after the BJP was voted to power, he said.
Harping back to nuclear deal issue with the US, Mr Advani said it was against the interests of the country and would override its security concerns and leave India vulnerable.
''The BJP would continue to oppose the deal as it was against the country's interests and carried out without considering the views of the opposition,'' he added.
The BJP leader accused the UPA Government for failing in all sectors, saying while they were making merry, the common man in the streets was suffering from price rise and widespread corruption.
