50 country bombs recovered in Kannur district

Kannur, Dec 16 (UNI) Police today recovered about 50 country bombs and other explosives in separate raids in the district.

Inspector General A Hemachandran told UNI that the raids were conducted following information that explosives were kept in politically-sensitive areas.

A team of top police officials conducted the raids at Kolavallur, Chokli, Panoor and Thalassery with the help of dog and bomb squads.

The explosives were recovered from unused plots and buildings, he added.
