41 cartridges dating back to British era found in Nashik

Nashik, Dec 16 (UNI) As many as 41 cartridges, presumably dating back to the British era, were found in the Atlas Copco company premises in the Satpur MIDC area today.

The cartridges were found where the construction work of the company was in progress, police said.

The labourers working at the site found the cartridges, police said, adding that 35 cartridges were of .303 rifle while the rest were cartridges of 9mm pistol.

As per primary reports, all the cartridges date back to the British era as they bear the numbers 38 and 42 on them which are no longer in use. All the cartridges are in a rusted condition.

The Satpur police have taken the cartridges in their custody and they will be sent to defence experts at the Deolali Camp here for verification.
