36th anniversary of Indo-Pakistan War celebrated in Jalpaiguri

Jalpaiguri, Dec 16 (UNI) To mark the 36th anniversary of the end of the Indo-Pakistan War, Army personnel from both sides of the border gathered here today in the district's Bogra area.

Pakistan Army Major General Nazir Hussain Shah had brought his troops and surrendered here, bringing an end to the war.

Among those present here on the occasion included Indian Major General Lakshman Singh Lehl, Major General P S Bhulla, General Officer Commanding(GOC) Kripan Division, and VDI Debavaram, Ex-GOC Kripan Division. The official function was held at Bogra Memorial ground in Binnagari Cantonment.

A similar programme was organised here at Sukna in Siliguri.
