Woman pilgrim from UP killed, 15 injured

Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu, Dec 15 (UNI) A 50-year-old woman pilgrim, hailing from Uttar Pradesh, was killed on the spot and 15 others were seriously injured, when a van in which they were travelling overturned at Pidariseri near Parthibanur here today. Police said a group of pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh were going to Rameswaram, when the tragedy occurred.

Police identified the deceased as A Sumsun, wife of Ashok Kumar, an advocate.

All the occupants of the van suffered serious injuries and they were admitted to Government Rajaji Hospital at Madurai.
