Howrah, Dec 15 (UNI) Looking like a replay of the ''possessed'' or the ''exorcist'', a man, claiming to have heard ''God's voice,'' jumped off Howrah's Bankim Setu today.

The 40-year-old man, whom the Guard of Railway Police said was mentally unstable, jumped off the bridge, got stuck in the overhead electric wires and landed on the roof of the incoming Rajgir passenger train.

The GRP personnel said his legs got burnt as they came in contact with the wires and he would have died if not for the train, which came in just as he was descending.

Seeming unaware of the consequence of his actions, the man, a resident of Kanpur, UP, who earned his living in the city as a rickshaw puller, had enough conviction to declare in front of everybody that he had been commanded by the Almighty to take up impossible task.

The GRP then let the man go free.
