Lady minister of Modi Goverment gheraoed by Congress workers

Ahmedabad, Dec 15 (UNI) Gujarat Education Minister Anandiben Patel and her convoy was allegedly 'gheraoed' and blockades put up on her way by opposition Congress workers at Kansara Darwaja locality in the district town of Patan today.

Ms Patel is seeking re-election to the Gujarat Assembly from Patan constituency, polling for which is to be held tomorrow.

She lodged a complaint with Patan District Officer Vinod R Rao and District Police officials stating that a mob of around 25-Congress workers gheraoed her car when they were passing through the Kansara Darwaja locality of Patan city this afternoon.

The Congress workers, with an intention to attack us, had created obstacles and blockades on the road but sensing the danger her driver swiftly drove away the car and saved their lives, Ms Patel claimed.

The Minister has also urged the election officials and police to take prompt action against the Congress workers.
