Body of a newborn girl with cuts on face found

Moga, Dec 15 (UNI) Body of a newborn baby girl with sharp-edged cuts on her face was found in the fields here yesterday.

According to police sources here today, vigorous search has been launched to nab the ''unknown woman and the family'' behind the crime.

The crime came to light yesterday after a farmer from Kotla Riaka inforemd the police about the dead body lying in the fields.

The police recovered the body and registerd a case under section 302 IPC against the ''unknown'' woman and family.

Police have launched investigation with the help of health department officials and was also questioning the mid-wives working in the area.
