Army celebrates Vijay Diwas tomorrow

Jammu, Dec 15 (UNI) To a mark its prestigious 1971 victory over Pakistan, Army here will celebrate the 36th 'Vijay Diwas' with traditional fanfare at Tiger War Memorial, Satwari, tomorrow.

On the day, which is celebrated every year, Lt Gen Niazi and 90,000 soldiers of Pakistan Army, had surrendered before Lt Gen A S Arora, then GOC-in-C Eastern Command in Dhaka.

Senior officers of the Army, as well as veterans who had participated in the 1971 action, will lay wreathes over the War Memorial to commemorate the day.
