7 pilgrims killed in road accident
Raisen(MP), Dec 15: Seven pilgrims, including four women, were killed on the spot and four seriously injured when a jeep carrying pilgrims from Omkareshwar rammed into a truck on a bridge at Mudpar village near Deori in Raisen district this morning, police said.
The seriously injured were referred to Jabalpur medical college hospital, police said, adding all victims were returning to their native village Singora in Narsinghpur district after pilgrimage at Omkareshwar.
The accident occurred apparently as the jeep driver was drowsy, police added.
After postmortem at Deori, the bodies will be handed over to next of kin of the deceased, police added.
