Woman kills daughter, commits suicide over family feud

Madurai, Dec 13 (UNI) Vexed over frequent domestic quarrels, a 28-year-old woman killed her three-year-old daughter by administering poison and later committed suicide in a similar manner at Meenakshipuram, here today.

Police said the woman, V Vasanthi, administered poison to her daughters V Suvedha (3) and an one-month-old female baby and later consumed the same.

Neighbours found the trio in an unconscious state and rushed them to the Government Rajaji Hospital, where the doctors declared Vasanthi and Suvedha dead. The baby was battling for life.

Her husband Virumandi, a coolie labourer, was absconding, fearing police action.
