Vajpayee's appeal to Gujarat voters came under pressure : Congress

New Delhi, Dec 13 (UNI) The Congress Party today described as an "after thought" the appeal issued by former Prime Minister A B Vajpayee to Gujarat voters in support of Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

AICC Spokesman Shakeel Ahmed today said that the appeal of Mr Vajpayee for Gujarat voters appeared in newspapers only today, though he had issued a similar appeal to the voters of Himachal Pradesh several days ago.

He said Mr Vajpayee was under pressure to issue an appeal after the Congress party yesterday pointed out that he had not issued an appeal to the voters of Gujarat as he had no hope about Mr Modi's victory in the assembly elections there.
