"There is urgent need for bringing Equal Opportunity Act": BKC

Udupi, Karnataka, Dec 13 (UNI) Karnataka Legislative Council Chairman B K Chandasekhar today said that there is an urgent need for Equal Opportunity Act at the national level to ensure justice to all, particularly to the dalits and minority sections who have been worst affected by the globalization.

Presiding over a session on + Globalization and Karnataka+ held on the second day of the 74th Akhila Bharatha Kannada Sahitya Sammelan here, he pointed that treating equal without going to the fact of backwardness based on caste system was nothing but generalization of the important issue. "How does the people, mainly the dalits and from minority class, who remained at the bottom without education and skills, can compete in the globalization era.", he questioned.
