New Delhi, Dec 13 (UNI) On the sixth anniversary of the terrorist attack on Parliament, Shiv Sena activists here today burnt ''Islamic terrorism'' in effigy and demanded that the attack convict Afzal Guru be hanged at the earliest.

In a memorandum to President Pratibha Patil, party's north India chief Jaibhagwan Goel urged her to facilitate the hanging of Afzal along with other terrorists lodged in various jails ''which would be the actual tribute to the martyrs of the Parliament attack''.

Condemning the UPA for its pro-Muslim policies, which were making the country ''a terrorists' den'' and led to doubts among the people about the security situation, he said, ''The terrorists have penetrated into every part of the country including the national capital and Uttar Pradesh.'' After conducting blasts in three courts of UP and the revelation of their plan to kidnap Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, the terrorists could now even go to the extent of trying to secure the release of imprisoned militants from Indian jails, he said.

Congress leaders' comments and actions regarding reservation in educational institutions, Sachar Committee report and the right on resources had only jeopardized the integrity of the nation, he alleged, adding that the governemnt and the Congress' leniency towards Afzal went against the principles of the Constitution.

It also went in favour of those militant organisations planning to get Afzal released, he said in the memorandum.
