Hardwar, Dec 13 (UNI) One person was killed and 15 others were injured when a bus overturned at Dudhadhari tiraha under Hardwar police station area last evening, police said today.
The accident occured when the driver of the bus lost control over the wheels in an attempt to avoid a three-wheeler coming from the opposite direction.
The bus owned by Phoenix Lamps factory was carrying the employees from the State Industrial Development Corporation Uttarakhand Ltd (SIDCUL) back to their residences at Shyampur (Rishikesh).
On recieving the information, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) V Murgeshan, SP (city) Ajay Joshi, ADM B S Dhanik and officials of the company, including the personnel manager Neeraj Raturi, rushed to the spot.
All the injured were admitted to the district civil hospital.
The sources said later eight workers, whose condition was stated to be critical, were referred to the Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, Jolly Grant, Dehradun.
The deceased was identified as Dhram Pal Gusain, the conductor of the bus.
