"Naxalism" real alternative to Left Front : CPI(ML-L)

Kolkata, Dec 13 (UNI) " Naxalism is the real alternative to the Left Front, " senior Communist Party of India(ML-Liberation) leader Swapan Mukherjee today said.

Talking to newspersons here, he said, " We feel Naxalism is the real alternative to the Left Front. " " The LF-supported Congress-led United Progessive Alliance(UPA) government at the Centre is implementing the Special Economic Zone(SEZ) in various states and facing resistance because they have not taken the people's consensus, " Mr Mukherjee asserted.

Not only Prime Minister Manmohan Singh but also Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee were facing similar resistance and the people in general did not approve the UPA government's "neo-liberal" policy, he said.

The CPI(ML-L) had been strengthening its base in Bihar and Jharkhand and several Left forces had already joined the party because the people had rejected the UPA government's SEZ and "neo-liberal" policy and the West Bengal government's "anti-farmer and anti-people" policy, he stated.

The nine-day eighth party congress started here from December ten and would continue till December 18 where more than 1200 delegates from the 19 states and two Union territories had participated.
