Lakshmi to be discharged on December 15

Bangalore, Dec 13 (UNI) After a month of recovery from the major surgery, two year old Bihar girl Lakshmi Tatma, who was successfully operated to separate from her parasitic twin at a multi specialty hospital here, would be discharged on December 15.

Chief Surgeon Sharavan V Patil, who headed the surgeons team, told UNI that the girl had recovered very well after the complex operation and was now ready to go home.

In a marathon 27-hour operation on November 6/7 Doctors had removed the extraneous limbs and restructured parts of her body.

Lakshmi, daughter of parents belonging to remote Rampur village on Nepal-Bihar border had arrived at the hospital on October 3 with eight limbs and torso of a parasitic twin fused to her pelvis.

The successful operation had been highly publicised with many organisation coming forward to help.

After the extensive wounds healed doctors started physiotherapy and rehabilitation sessions.
