Jharkhand Minister visits SMVDU campus

Jammu, Dec 13 (UNI) Jharkhand Minister for Tourism Hari Naryan Rai visited Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) campus in Katra town of Reasi district, here today.

The Vice Chancellor of the University N K Bansal while briefing the Jharkhand Minister about the academic programmes of the varsity said two new Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) have been signed with the famous Rhur University, Bochum, Germany and Kun Shan University, Taiwan.

''The University has started two more post graduate courses in Mathematics and Philosophy from the current academic session and launched a centre of bioinformatics in its Department of Biotechnology, Mr Bansal said.

Mr Naryan appreciated the growth of the university and lauded the achievements registered by SMVDU. A number of students from Jharkhand are also pursuing their professional courses in the University.
