High Court summons Chief Secretary in Bihar

Patna, Dec 13 (UNI) Patna High Court today summoned the state Chief Secretary to appear tomorrow and explain why the government failed to send the names of the victims of extremist violence to Assam government to facilitate compensation for their kins from the Centre.

While hearing a public interest petition, a division bench, comprising Justices Chandra Mauli Kumar Prasad and Mihir Kumar Jha issued the directive to the Chief Secretary when it was brought to the notice of the court about the failure of the state government in filing reply on the matter.

Earlier, the court had directed the state government to file a reply on the delay over sending names of Bihari victims of terrorists' violence in Assam to that state government for Compensation to be given under a scheme of the Central government.
