Former MP Ranjit Singh joins Congress

Una, Dec 13 (UNI) The Congress today received a boost with former Member of Parliament and three time MLA Thakur Ranjit Singh joining the party.

Mr Singh remained MLA from Kutlehar constituency from 1967 to 1972 as an independent, from 1980 to 1985 from the Himachal Lok Raj Party and from 1990 to 1993 from the Janata Dal.

He was elected to Lok Sabha from Hamirpur constituency in 1977 as Janata Party candidate.

The Congress party today claimed to have cut into BJP candidate Varinder Kanwar's Rajput vote bank in Kutlehar constituency with his entry into the Congress.
