Capacity of Sirsa Milk Plant to be doubled

Chandigarh, Dec 13 (UNI) The Haryana Dairy Development Cooperative Federation Limited will spend a sum of Rs six crore for augmenting the existing capacity of Milk Plant at Sirsa.

Haryana Dairy Development Cooperative Federation Limited Managing Director Dhanpat Singh said the existing milk procurement capacity of the plant was one lakh litres of milk per day and it would increase to two lakh litres of milk per day after augmentation.

He said more than 16 milk societies had been formed covering almost all villages of the district. Besides, milk societies had also been formed in a number of villages of Fatehabad district and nearby areas of Rajasthan.

The farmers had been given a maximum record price of Rs 26 per litre for 10 point fat milk during the current financial year, he said.
