BSP leader booked for showing disrespect to Mahatma Gandhi

Lucknow, Dec 13 (UNI) Khadi Gram Udyog Board, Uttar Pradesh unit president and BSP leader Daya Ram Sen was today booked for allegedly showing disrespect to Father of the Nation -- Mahatma Gandhi -- in Ferozabad district.

A case has been registered in the regard at the Shikohabad police station, sources said.

On November 2, Mr Sen had allegedly removed the photograph of Mahatma Gandhi during a programme.

Congress president Rita Bahuguna Joshi and party's general secretary Digvijay Singh had protested in Shikohabad on November 15, demanding the arrest of Mr Sen.

Later, they announced to agitate on December 15, demanding an FIR against the BSP leader, sources added.

Congress had decided to December 15 as 'sadbudhi divas,' the sources added.
