New Delhi, Dec 13: Barely an year after the murder of an elderly couple in the Greater Kailash area of the city, a 70-year-old woman was on Wednesday found dead in the posh locality, in what the police suspect to be a work of unidentified robbers.
The dead body of 70-year old Nisha Banga was found in her house in Greater Kailash this morning, police said.
Police said the body of the elderly woman, who was staying alone at her residence, was found by the domestic help when he came for work this morning.
The house and its belongings were also found to be ransacked.
Police said when the domestic help arrived on the first floor of the house where the septuagenarian lady stayed, he got no response to the ringing of the doorbell. He then alerted the tenants, staying on the ground floor.
After the door was forcibly opened, it was found to be ransacked whereupon the tenants immediately informed the police about the incident.
Police suspect that the woman was murdered during a robbery attempt last night as there were strangulation marks on her neck.
However, police said they were looking at all angles.
The murder comes an year after two senior citizens-- S D Khosla and his wife Santosh -- were murdered by unidentified men in the same locality.
