3 new zoological parks in offing in UP

Moradabad, Dec 13 (UNI) Three new zoological parks are in the offing in three districts of Uttar Pradesh.

The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to set up the parks in Agra, Gorakhpur and Moradabad.

An estimated Rs 15 crore had been drawn up for setting up a zoological park at Deer Park on the Delhi-Lucknow National Highway neighbouring the Ramganga river, Moradabad forest department director Vishnu Singh said here yesterday.

In the zoo, rare species of bear, crocodile, peacock and blackbugs would be a feast to the eyes of wildlife lovers.

Besides, snake houses and butterfly parks would be developed in the new zoological park.

However, the proposal still awaits its final nod.

According to sources, the formalities are pending with the Central Zoo Authority.
