17 IEDs recovered in Manipur

Imphal, Dec 13: Security forces recovered at least 17 Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) from Ukhrul and Thoubal districts in Manipur during the past 24 hours.

The Assam Rifles PRO said here today troops detected 14 IEDs at Ukhrul and three at Thoubal with the help of bomb experts and sniffer dogs and defused them.

Major casualties were avoided following the timely detection of the explosives, the PRO added.
