Train hits goods vehicle, gateman suspended

Lucknow, Dec 12 (UNI) An express train collided with a goods vehicle in Madiaon area of the Uttar Pradesh capital due to the alleged laxity of the railways gateman.

The concerned gateman had been suspended, officials sources said here.

He failed to close the gates of the level crossing in time, even as train number 171 Mailani-Lucknow Express was approaching.

The train hit a goods tempo passing over the tracks.

However, the tempo driver jumped off the vehicle in time and saved his life, police said.
