Record paddy arrival in Haryana mandis

Chandigarh, Dec 12 (UNI) A new record has been set in Haryana with the arrival of 40.95 lakh MTs of paddy in the mandis of the state so far this season.

Last year, during the entire kharif season a total of 40.67 lakh MTs of paddy arrived in the state mandis, Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said here today.

He said paddy procurement by the six government agencies would continue till December 31.

He said HAFED had procured 7.19 lakh MTs of paddy, Food and Supplies Department 5.64 lakh MTs, Agro Industries Corporation 2.23 lakh MTs, Confed 2.04 lakh MTs, Haryana Warehousing Corporation 60,194 MTs and Food Corporation of India 10,397 MTs.

Kurukshetra district was ahead of all the districts in the state with arrival of 7.20 lakh MTs of paddy followed by Karnal 6.56 lakh MTs, Kaithal 5.01 lakh MTs, Fatehabad 4.76 lakh MTs, Jind 3.54 lakh MTs, Ambala 3.11 lakh MTs, Yamunanagar 2.17 lakh MTs, Panipat 2.02 lakh MTs, Sirsa 1.91 MTs, Faridabad 1.54 lakh MTs and Panchkula 47,696 MTs.
