Preparation of electoral rolls begins for Panchkula MC

Chandigarh, Dec 12 (UNI) The Haryana Election Department has issued notification for preparing Electoral Rolls of all the wards of the Municipal Council, Panchkula with January 1 next as qualifying date.

The order comes as per the notification for delimitation of wards of this Council issued by the State Government on December 7.

Haryana Election Commissioner Chander Singh said the compilation and correction including door to door re-verification would be done from December 12 to 27. The draft publication of the electoral rolls of all the wards of Municipal Council, Panchkula would be done on December 28.

He said the last date for filing of claims and objections to the Revising Authority would be January 8 while last date for disposing of the claims and objections by the Revising Authority would be January 12.

He said the last date for filing appeals with Deputy Commissioner against the orders of Revising Authority would be January 16 while the last date for disposal of appeals by the Deputy Commissioner would be January 21. The final publication of the electoral rolls would be done on January 31.

The State Election Commissioner further stated that the names of persons who would attain the age of 18 years on January 1, would be included in the draft electoral rolls of the Municipal Council.
