1000 stranded on Jammu-Srinagar highway

Jammu, Dec 12: Over 1000 passengers were stranded on the 300-km-long Jammu-Srinagar National Highway today as the vehicular movement between the two regions was suspended due to heavy snowfall near Jawahar Tunnel, a senior official said.

''The (Border Roads Organisation) BRO has put in service the heavy machinery to clear off the road but continuous snowfall from Jawahar Tunnel onwards is hampering work,'' SSP National Highway Danish Rana told UNI
