Patna, Dec 12: Suspended JD(U) MLA Chhedi Paswan today tendered apology in the House for unsavoury remarks made against speaker Udai Narain Chaudhary when he was not allowed to speak during zero hour.

In his statement, Mr Paswan expressed regret for his remarks against the Speaker and said he had no intention to hurt the sentiment of anyone.''Right of the members to speak in the House should be protected at any cost,'' he added.

Earlier, as the House assembled after lunch, RJD member Shakeel Ahmad Khan raised the issue and said it was unfortunate that Mr Paswan was pushed out of the House by JD(U) MLA Shrawan Kumar. If behaviour of Mr Paswan was not in accordance with the decorum of the House, he should have been moved out by marshal and not by any MLA.

The treasury benches took exception to the matter raised by Mr Khan and said Mr Paswan himself was not making any such allegations.

After that, Mr Paswan alleged that he was moved out by Mr Kumar when he was voluntarily going out from the House in frustration after the Speaker refused to permit him to speak during zero hour.

Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi said Mr Paswan was making a misleading statement in the House and it was not expected from him. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ramashrya Prasad Singh said no one in the House should make misleading statements to make the atmoshphere tense.

Mr Kumar also apologised to Mr Paswan saying his intention was to calm down the tense situation and had no intention to hurt his sentiment.
