Govt to auction spectrum for 3G

New Delhi, Dec 12 (UNI) In yet another blow to the existing GSM operators, the government today said it will auction spectrum for third generation (3G) mobile services .

''The 3G services will be auctioned,'' Telecom Minister A Raja told reporters on the sidelines of the inaugural session of 'India Telecom 2007'.

On the allocation of 3G spectrum he said, the department has already put the system in place and other possibilities may be explored if required.
